The Halkirk Heritage & Vintage Motor Society was formed in 2006 to preserve the character, history and traditions of the village and parish of Halkirk as well as the character and history of vintage motors and associated memorabilia. An annual exhibition during July / August is held in the historical Ross Institute in Halkirk. In 2011, the Hall will celebrate the 100th year of its opening. Wick Which offer a balance of countryside, coast and town experiences. The other walks around Pultneytown highlight the industrial archaeology of Thomas Telford’s planned industrial site. The project has been taken forward by the Wick Paths project working together with the Caithness Partnership, the Highland Access Project, Highland Council Ranger Service, Royal Commission for Ancient and Historical Monuments (RCAHMS), Historic Scotland and the Highland Council. The riverside walk is protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) as designated by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) – Link to map (please be patient as it takes a time to download!)
